Little Einsteins

Have you seen the Little Einstein's movie or the daily show on Disney? It is fantastic. I would let my boy watch this thing 50 times a day if it were on that much. I am going to write a proper review here eventually but I just wanted to mention how much I love this show.

Joe is constantly pretending he is Leo, I am Quincy, Daddy is June (LOL) and Bear (our dog) is Annie. He walks around holding Butterfly and pretends he is in the cave running from the bats (this is from the plot of the movie, but not in a scary way) all day. I'm serious - we do this several times a day.

The shows are full of classical music and extremely sophisticated concepts for preschoolers, like paintings from people with very hard to pronounce names and musical crescendo and the different oceans of the world - but all in a way that makes it easy to understand - fantastic!

Edit: I have a lot of people coming here looking for Little Einsteins toys and the Toys Have arrived! Check DisneyShopping for plush toys, a rockey costume, and a couple of books.

The videos and more books are here. And, you can visit the website for stickers and games.

I'm not trying to spam you by any means, but seeing your (and your kids love) of Little Einsteins, I thought you might be interested in my site TV for Tots (www.tvfortots.com). It has news about preschool televsion. For Einsteins I have an episode guide. Also, Disney will be airing 10 episodes straight through on November 18th.

Thanks for the great blog! And AMEN to letting them watch it 50 times a day. This is the ONE show that my husband and I wholeheartedly love our son to watch. He just turned two, and loves Rocket. He doesn't ask to watch Little Einsteins, he asks for 'Wocket!'. :-)

I'm one of those people looking for toys. When we need our little boy to chill and relax, we watch a Little Einsteins. They're his mellow-out comfort food. And VERY educational.

Yeah, I'm on the lookout not only for Little Einstein toys, still, but for NEW EPISODES. The christmas one was nice but I wish they could make them a little faster :). If I hear of toys I'll post them here.

Amazon's currently listing 4 upcoming books and a new DVD ("Team Up for Adventure") for April 2006. It's also been noted on a few other sites that this will be the beginning of a full-scale product line, so I can only imagine there'll be CDs, toys, and all kinds of good stuff available soon. My son and I watch it religiously every morning, so we're plenty eager for those books. In the meantime, he's got The Great Wave of Kanagawa on his wall and a mix CD of most of the episode music; the music's easy to find on MP3 with iTunes. He loves the CD--might be something worth doing if you're chomping at the bit (like us) until April.

C'mon LIttle Einstein toys!!!! Their KILLING me! :-) As a music teacher I LOVE this show, naturally. My son and daughter FLIP when I say no (becuase they were bad or something...) My son will be 4 in 2 weeks, and has been begging me for a Little Einstein cake and toy. While I do cakes on the side, this will be a challenge for me to create. Oh well. Can't wait for the product line!!!

I wish they would get on with some toys, he's desperate for Rocket!! We have to keep making "Playdoh" ones.
Best childrens show for along time, and so glad they actually speak correctly!

My nephew loves the Little Einsteins so for his 5th Birthday we had a little party with his Kindergarten class. Since there are no decorations to speak of I had to design/make them myself (I also did that for his first birthday which was Baby Einstein) Well here are pics of what I did for him. The first picture is of the party bags. http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/8377/bags1sg.jpg The second is of his cake http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5238/cake0vm.jpg the third is some of the party favors, the four smaller pictures are what’s on the bubbles. http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/5555/partyfavors1yq.jpg the fourth is the piñata http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4923/pinata6mf.jpg the fifth is the t-shirts I designed the day we took him the Legoland http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/3623/tshirt1zt.jpg the sixth is the t-shirt he wore to his party http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/661/tshirtb6vb.jpg the last two are the Valentine’s I designed for him to give to his class. http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/544/valentines1qo.jpg http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/5521/valentines26zd.jpg

Hi there! yes I'm another one of those people just waiting for their line to come out. So far I have only 2 dvds and just that was hard to find. The first dvd I bought at wal-mart and the second was at sears...I was surprised that there was one with 3 episodes on because the first dvd I bought was the giant adventure story. My son watches einsteins all day...I MEAN ALL DAY! this is the only cartoon that he ever liked and it's good cause he likes the interaction parts where they pat and dance. Hope you keep me updated. Thanks. Kamakani

Hi there! I'm another one of those moms whose child just loves einsteins. I had the hardest time just getting 2 dvds. THe first was the huge adventure and then to my surprise there was one other dvd I ran into by accident that had 3 episodes...I had to have it! My son watches them all day, everyday and I do mean ALL DAY! This is the only thing that helps me to get by in the day and persuade him to do things that I want him to...lol! Well when you get more info, let me know. I know that they sell shirts but what kid cares about the shirt? I'm sure they'd rather have a toy.

I found this link because I too am lookig for Little Einstein products. I found this on the Disney website for LE: In July, “Little Einsteins” apparel, sleepwear and accessories will be exclusively available on DisneyShopping.com. For Holiday , DisneyShopping.com will include additional items in their assortment. Disney Consumer Products plans to release a complete line of “Little Einsteins” product in 2007.

I couldn't agree more with your opinion of "Little Einsteins!"

Finally a childern's show that teaches them about music. As a musician, I completely appreciate that my 3.5 year old now informs me when I'm speaking too loud that I need to diminuendo :-)

What other show would teach him that!

I hope this show makes it and many more episodes get produced.

Now if we can just get a toy rocket that I can give him.....

We've got a house full of LE devotees, too! We're actually dressing up our 3 girls and mommy and daddy as the Little Einsteins for a halloween party at Disney World this year (big sis is June, middle sister - who wears glasses - is Leo and wants us to dye her hair red, baby sister is Annie, daddy is Quincy and mommy is dressing up as Rocket. Homemade costumes are the best!! :)

Hello, My baby Christinne is only a year and she looooves LE so much in Latin America is Mini Einsteins. Since this is the only tv show she watch i had to make toys for her, its crazy! I love it to, she can hardly say Leo and Rocket. The funny thing is that she wants to sing along with Anne. For her party I brought t-shirts and printed the LE logo for each kid, I had the cake made with another pic I found online ,it was very difficult beacuse there are no plates o anything, so we got plates and cups with different colors and lots of ballons, remember the episode that Annie lost her ballons, well thats an idea for yor babys bday. Take an episode of your preference and thats the theme. Hope my idea is helpfull. Bye Bye e-christinne

My family has become HUGE fans of Little Einsteins, as well. Although we like several of the Disney shows, they seem to annoy my husband and older son. But when it's time for the "ZieZies" (Einsteins), we all enjoy watching with our nearly 2-year old boy. And yes, we have a regular viewing of one of the DVDs everyday. Their addition to his language skills and education has been a welcome surprise.

My daughter will be turning 2 next month and is crazy about Little Einstein. We have been taping them on our DVR and have about 10 episodes stored up to pop on for a "wocket" fix for those moments that we need one. When Little Einsteins isn't on t.v., she is chattering on and on about rocket. I just noticed on Disney's website that they are supposed to be coming out with a full product line in 2007, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I have 3 year old twins that absolutely love Little Einsteins! My little boy runs around with a red Fisher Price tow truck... that is his "rocket". What an imagination! He also has 2 Fisher Price "People" that he calls "Annie" and "Quincy".

They watch the DVDs, but we can't wait for a line of toys to come out!

I thought I was alone in thinking that Disney is taking forever to come out with a product line. I've requested it several times at the store and I started to think that we were the only family out there wanting these darn things!! I'm afraid my kids (now 5 and 3) will grow out of the Einstein faze before they get some toys on the shelves!! It's nice to read others are going through the same thing.

My kids enjoy Little Einsteins and I love them being introduced to various artist and locations around the globe. A couple of weeks ago we celebrated my son's birthday and had a Little Einstein themed party. I created invitations and printed them with the 4 characters and rocket saying we're on a mission to celebrate his birthday. I made the cake and drew Rocket in icing. We had big music notes hanging from the porch, plenty of balloons, prints of famous art work posted around, a cake shaped fun-jump/spacewalk, and the Little Einstein's CD playing. I printed coloring pages from Disney's website for those who didn't want to jump to have something to do. For the main theme activity, I made 7 posters with images and set up vignettes to represent the continents and everyone at the party followed my son, dressed in his Rocket costume, thru the house for a trip around the world...at each location the kids got a treasure for their goodie bag that fit the place they were visiting ("boomerang" whistles from Australia, wind-up penguins from Antarctica, "monkey paw" clappers from the jungles of South America, Chinese yo-yo's from Asia, etc.). Tableware was just primary colors. Snacks were animal crackers, bugles, goldfish, fruits, cheeses, etc. Oh, for the hats I did basic colors but dressed them up with music note stickers. The thank you notes I printed myself also; they had Leo, June, Annie and Quincy with word bubbles saying "thank you very much" each in a different language.

Very nice site.
I love seeing that parents are so involved in making their children's birthdays so special!
We are having my daughter's 4th birthday at Disney's MGM Studios. That's where they are featuring the Playhouse Disney shows and character meet/greets. The Hollywood and Vine restaurant @ MGM features the characters of Leo and June who interact with the guests. She LOVES June and has met her before while at the park, so I know this will be a special time for her and her friends. Jojo and Goliath are also going to be there from Jojo's Circus. I honestly think we parents will be more excited than the kids. They keep us young!!
* As for toys, I know they have the plush characters at the Disney Parks so possibly they would also have them in the Disney stores that seem to be popping up in each state.

Hello! I also love this show. I started recording it every morning on my DVR so my little one can watch it. He started watching it at 6 months and loved the song. He would listen to the song at the beginning of the show but now that he's 8 months old he'll sit in front of the tv for about 5 minutes of the show. I know eventually he'll watch more of it but it's the only show that doesn't annoy me and I love to watch it with him.

Just planned a Little Einsteins party. Great fun. Started w/ classical music & instruments out. Then played “June Says” (like Simon Says…dance like a gazelle, hop like a rabbit, etc.). Used jumbo sticker book on eBay for “Put Rocket in his House” (Pin Tail on Donkey). Played “Run, Run Rocket” (like What Time is it Mr. Fox?)…one kid was Rocket and picked the style…staccato, allegro, etc. Another kid was Annie and picked a number. Others held hands & were Big Jet. Big Jet stepped as Annie & Rocket said. Scavenger hunt. Ended w/Curtain Call & clapped for everyone.
I created the rocket cake. Awesome! Found it on two websites & combined great ideas. From this website I used Twinkie idea for the engines. (Freeze 'em first).
http://www.amazingmoms.com/htm/party-little-einsteins-birthday.htm
From this website I figured out the frosting. Her cake looks _just like_ Rocket, because she trimmed cake for shape and did fancy frosting. But…the kids still loved the one we had.
http://www.andreasrecipes.com/2006/11/11/little-einsteins-rocket-birthday-cake/
I used canned frosting.

So here’s the list of ingredients I used…
Any cake mix…one 9” round and one medium soufflé bowl,
1 can of pink vanilla frosting (Pillsbury),
1 jar Wilton No Taste Red gel,
2 twinkies (engines), long toothpicks to attach (red plastic),
1 tube Wilton Ready to Use Frosting (windows) with Wilton leaf tip,
2 Lemonhead candies (headlights),
Red Tootsie Pop or Charms blow pop (rocket top),

Assembly was pretty much as described by Andrea.
Good luck. Have fun.

Anyway, tons of toys on that website!
