Lady is a sweet-looking purple engine with gold trim and her name on the side. She is one of Joe's favorite engines. He has the battery operated Lady, but he never turns her on - just pushes her around like the rest of the trains.

He also has a book that we have to read to him over and over again about Lady and the magic railroad. Thomas finds Lady and brings her back and everyone on the island of Sodor celebrates. He likes to say things about her like -Lady is a strong engine- which always surprises me because I don't think she is portrayed that way in the book.
