Mavis is not one of the most popular engines so she is not really widely available. You can get Wooden Mavis for $11.00 (sometimes on sale for $8.77) at allaboardtoys or take along Mavis (metal) for $7.00 or less. Ebay sometimes has Thomas the Tank Engine Stamps and Mavis is usually available.

Mavis is a tough female diesel train. She works at the quarry and shows up a lot in the videos and books. She is another favorite of my childs'. She is black and medium sized with coverings over her wheels.

My son has several Thomas the tank engine vcr tapes and dvd stories. The first time I saw one, I thought it was really dumb, because almost nothing happens in the video. I guess I didn't like them because they are narrated and not like what we are used to seing these days. My boy loves them though - he loves to reenact what happened in the video with his trains, or pretend he is Thomas and I am Gordon or Percy and we are having an adventure.
