About Wooden Tidmouth Milk Tanker

The milk tanker is an accessory car, made to be pulled by an engine. It's useful trait is that it delivers milk to all the residents of the island of sodor. It is a white tanker car (rounded, for holding liquids) with a black bottom, and Milk on the side in large blue letters.

This tanker car is a prime example of one thing that I think makes toys like Thomas so valuable. It gets our young children very interested in the way the world works, and provides a valuable link from stuff they no nothing about to stuff that is familiar. In this case, the link is the milk they drink every day, to the tanker car that they know nothing about.

This toy provides a valuable talking point with your toddler or preschooler - you could give your child a glass of milk while they are playing with the milk tanker and discuss how you got the milk, and how it got to the grocery store - do you think it came on a train in a milk tanker? It might even make trips to the gorcery store more interesting, or even drinking milk more fun!
