Video and Dvd Reviews

Netflix DVD Service Review
I've had the Netflix service since Christmas of 2003. Before kids we used it for our dvds, now we rent mostly kids dvds and it saves us money.

Veggie Tales Videos
Veggie Tales are geared toward preschoolers and up, all the way to preteen. They have interesting storylines mostly based on christian biblical stories. Each episode (except the silly ones) have a character-building theme with life-lessons spelled out at the end and in the story.

Blue's Clues Videos
Blues Clues is a series about a dog named Blue and her owner Joe or Steve. Blue can't talk (except in the newer Blue's Room episodes). Steve (or Joe) asks her a question in the episode and she can't answer so she leaves clues for him to decipher. For example, if Steve asked "What is your favorite animal Blue?" and Blue left a pawprint (her clue) on a feather, water, and a duck's bill, then you would figure out eventually that her favorite animal was a duck. Very entertaining for preschoolers. Also educational and mellow.

Elmo's World Videos
These are from the last 20 minutes of Sesame Street. Elmo explores a theme (animals, weather, exercise) and sings about it, talks to kids about it, has Mr Noodle dance about it, shows pictures of it. Interesting for toddlers mostly.
